Paragliding at the Zichron Ya’akov Base

The Flying Experience

Flatland site offering a playground of about 80m hight, that needs seabreeze. Its not a soaring site, but thermaldynamic, the thermals need the seabreeze to build nicely and from takeoff you will be taken up nice and hight. It is strong during the day and gentle big thermals in the evening.

It’s an interesting cross country site where you fly down winders to for example Mevo Hama which is about 60km. You cross from the Mediterranean to the border with Jordan and Syria.

There is lots of civilisation around, no place for hiking. Roads buildings. Build up.

What is exciting about this place?

Is it beginner friendly?

This site is not for beginners. It gets pretty rough as it’s a mix of seabreeze and thermic activity which creates some turbulent thermals. If you really want to go here and you are a beginning pilot with lots of hours of practice then

What are the local regulations?

No regulations, no registrations, no license requirements. Just remember that there are important airspace limitations, which change frequently, and it is best to ask local XC pilots advice for this, especially if you would like to fly outside of the weekends.
