Paragliding at the Arcones Base

The Flying Experience

This is surely the best flying site in this area! Okay, along with Piedrahíta. Arcones is well-known and frequently flown by both paragliders and hanggliders. It offers a 20 km long NW facing slope, and wonderfully powerful thermals. In the right season you can count on spectacular cross country conditions with potential for flying 250+ km flights towards the West, North-West, and North.

Launch:
The Arcones North-West facing launch is a wide and comfortable grassy slope, also suitable for beginners and school flights.

Landing Zone:
There is a wide official landing area near the town of Arcones. It is shared among hang gliders and paragliders, pay attention to traffic and paragliders get out of the way as soon as they land to make space for incoming hanggliders.
