Questions & Answers

We have a Kaerntner card, is there a discount?

  • Yes there is. You may use the code KAERNTEN10
  • Only for those passengers that hold a card.

I weigh 100kg, can I fly?

  • The maximum weight is 100kg
  • For passengers over 100kg we require a bigger wing, which is only possible when we have a pilot available and when you are able to run a short distance. This might have an additional costs, so please get in touch with us before booking.

My husband is afraid of heights, can he fly?

  • Acrophobia is a common condition in which one experiences an intense fear of heights.
  • Most of the people only experience this feeling when standing on a fixed object, not when on board of a moving object.
  • You may need a bit more time at the take-off, which is fine!
  • 3 seconds later you will be in the air and surprised that you feel absolutely fine!
  • No one has ever regretted flying paraglider after landing.

  • Funny fact: there are many pilots that suffer from Acrophobia!

My kid is 5 years old, is that too young?

  • You can fly with us from about 5-6 years old.
  • The minimum weight is 20kg.
  • For our little passengers we often require a smaller wing, and a childrens harness.
  • Please let us know in advance.
  • The child needs to want to fly, this is not an experience we can force children to do.

Will I get motion sick?

  • If you suffer from motion sickness please let your pilot know before the flight so he or she can adapte the flying style and fly a steady panoramic flight with you.
  • Get sick unexpectedly? Always tell the pilot before it's too late so that the pilot can intervene in time.
  • The landing site offers everything you need to freshen up afterwards.

Do you notice turbulence on the flight?

  • It rocks a little. Just as you would imagine when you fly like a bird.
  • Turbulence is updrafts and downdrafts. When flying through a downward wind, it appears as if there is a hole in the air.
  • The paraglider is a light-weather aircraft. If the winds are too strong, the flights are simply postponed until a better cycle.

How dangerous is paragliding?

  • Over the past decade, paragliding has evolved into a remarkably safe recreational activity, with an injury rate of only 0.5% among pilots, making it a low-risk activity.
  • The safety record results from advancements in equipment and comprehensive pilot training.
  • Tandem equipment adheres to strict safety standards, undergoing rigorous quality controls.
  • Regular weather meetings further enhance safety by ensuring optimal conditions.
  • Puffy Cloud verifies the qualifications and experience of tandem pilots to ensure they meet certification requirements.
  • Tandem pilots are trained and experienced and actively prioritise safety, resulting in far fewer accidents compared to hobby pilots, making paragliding a thrilling yet secure adventure.

Can I take pictures or videos myself?

  • Of course! Just make sure to bring a fastening strap with you so that nothing gets lost in the flight.
  • Your hands should be free during takeoff and landing.

  • Our advice is to enjoy the flight and let the pilot do the filming.
  • It is not only that you might get nauseous while filming, the quality of the material is just not comparable with our pilots ultra long selfie sticks, and their photography experience. They ensure you get the best footage including you, the paraglider and the scenery.

What about the Weather?

  • We only fly with good conditions.
  • If the weather forecast isn't looking good, we will call you in advance to re-schedule.
  • Temporary short and small rain showers can be expected at the landing site or at the summit.
  • Temporary non-flyable weather conditions can cause a delay on all flights that same day.
  • We do not fly when there is a storm.

  • Expect the temperature at take-off and during the flight to be around 10-15 degrees lower than the temperature at the landing site. In addition, there is a wind speed of approx. 40 km/h.
